The project consists of an installation of graphic work by Andrew, a video and a light installation with green lasers. In the video work, white nude male torsos fight over the proper interpretation of a female artist’s work. The text that is spoken is collected from critical and art history articles about Olga Rozanova’s work «The Green Line».The project deals with the question of the objectifying power of the gaze. The performance consists of three actions that reveal the conflict of the pictorial and conceptual in art.

Drawing from life is the practice of attentive looking, exploring ways of moving sensual experience onto the pictorial plane, studying form, plasticity, anatomy, patterns of light and air environment. The artist and the model are placed within the framework of a social relationship with a strict separation: the model still demonstrates the artist’s chosen pose, the artist behind the easel produces «art.» For the artist, someone else’s body becomes his representation of someone else’s body, something that he will sign and be able to sell as exclusively his own work. Through this «mastering» of the form Andreyev performs a transgressive act of overcoming the established disposition of the interaction between «creator» and «material», from the formal to the personal field of psychological relationships. This overcoming is possible through performative interaction. Expressively bursting out on paper in the form of visual stories, the traces of communication of the participants of the artistic process become evidence of a common experience. Here art captures borderline, forbidden but attractive forms of life, leaving them in the conventional situation of drawing from nature. The problem of the impossibility of escaping the relationship of objectification is scaled into the social relationships within the artistic community and society as a whole
