In the Face of...
graphic arts series
paper, linocut, xerolithography
work in progress since 2022
A series of graphics based on photos from a family album. The
interior of the early ‘90s was preserved in my mother and I’s
apartment for 30 years. The ‘90s brought with them a kind of
hope for a renewed democratic future. But I was growing up,
and time seemed to be rolling back to the decaying spirit of
imperialism. At the same time, hopes for better opportunities
and a cozy arrangement of my own life were cemented in our
interior.
In the graphic series, I take advantage of the possibilities of
printmaking: I repeat the same background, but put my photos
of different ages there as a second layer.
